Summary

Job Description:

24 hours weekly 
Afternoons with weekend rotation 
Call and Holidays when applicable.

Provides health care services applying pulsed x-ray energy to assist diagnosis or treatment. Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure.

Essential Duties:

  • Verifies orders, verifies patient name/birth date and history.
  • ·Documents all incidents related to patient care on in electronic health record (example-incident reports,
  • medications given, etc.)
  • ·Performs and documents time out procedure for invasive procedures.
  • Follow department protocol for all exams.
  • · Continuously monitors the patient throughout the exam.
  • · Use Radiation protection for patient and self.
  • · Utilize ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) for all exams.
  • · Assist Radiologist and authorized providers with exams/procedures, as necessary.
  • · Performs routine diagnostic imaging , fluoroscopy, surgery imaging, and ED/Urgent care imaging.

Requirements:

  • Accredited School of Radiologic Technology / Diploma
  • Current Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (KBMIRT) License
  • Current License with the American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiography (R)Registry
