Summary
Job Description:
Vascular Access Registered Nurse/ 40 hours weekly
10 hour shifts - 4 days per week, 7:00am-5:30 pm
Rotating holidays on call and every third weekend.
Prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and implements nursing care of patients as it relates to insertion and maintenance of vascular access; participates in patient and family teaching; and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Essential Duties:
- Assesses appropriateness of line selection based on patient history, clinical condition, and planned therapy
- Provides direct patient care and education to patients, caregivers, and staff in the appropriate use and care of vascular access devices.
- Serves as a resource and provides leadership in the development, coordination, and monitoring of vascular access device and/or PICC line care, and system measurements to improve clinical outcomes
Requirements:
- Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
- One year RN experience required (hospital experience preferred)
- Obtain any certifications or education required for any equipment or vascular access devices as needed.
