Monitor Technician
Part-Time I First Shift
Emergency Department I Lexington, KY
An Emergency department (ED) that provides 24-hour emergency care to patients who need urgent medical attention for severe injuries or illness.
Description:
- Monitor Technician provides continuous observation and interpretation of cardiac rhythms with documentation and communication of pertinent arrhythmias and changes in rate, rhythm, NBP, and/or oxygen saturation to nurse responsible.
- Observes cardiac monitor, oxygen saturation and Blood pressure. Maintains equipment and supplies.
- Documents and communicate information regarding patient rhythms and Oxygen saturations, and blood pressure.
- Responsible for identification of patient arrhythmias, abnormalities, or significant changes from baseline and reporting on the condition of patient/client to the appropriate supervisor or other health care team members.
- Responsible for assisting providers with cardiac monitoring, therapeutic measures, and procedures related to cardiac monitoring.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Less than one year's experience.
- RN License, LPN, prior monitor tech experience (substitute for degree)
- Dysrhythmia courses are completed during orientation and recertified annually.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
