Job Description:
Chaplain – PRN
Provides spiritual care for patients, families and staff of Baptist Health
Job Duties:
- Makes a spiritual assessment of patients and/or families, initiates appropriate pastoral intervention and prioritizes pastoral care needs.
- Offers prayer, scripture, and sacraments when appropriate.
- Identifies and addresses non-traditional cultural/religious needs.
- Consults with pastors of local churches concerning patient ministry and church support of the hospital and its programs as needed.
- Is competent in explaining advance directives and provides notary service.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree
- B.A./B.S. or its equivalent for CPE training; M. Div or its equivalent from an accredited graduate school (seminary) for Chaplain
- At least two years of job-related experience
- Pastoral experience and CPE experience to qualify as a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains (is required to become Board Certified within 2 years of employment)
