The Facilities Services division provides planning, design and construction management for Stanford Medicine, supporting its mission of improving health through leadership, collaborative discoveries, and innovation in healthcare, education, and research.
The Facilities Construction business unit provides construction management for medium-to-large multi-year capital projects at Stanford Medicine. Facilities Construction oversees design and construction in alignment with the Stanford Integrated Master Plan.
Stanford Health Care is seeking a Healthcare Director of Construction with 10 to 20 years of experience in managing large teams and multi-million-dollar projects. The ideal candidate demonstrates technical expertise in HCAI healthcare construction, incorporating patient-centric design, technology integration, sustainability and evidenced based design to reduce environmental impacts and operating costs to the organization. Relationship management is a key aspect of this role – from managing staff to management of stakeholders and managing up to the senior executive level. This candidate should also be highly skilled in presentations, as well as written and verbal communication.
This role will be spearheading key new construction and renovation projects, enabling Stanford Medicine to drive innovation and provide leading edge care – personalized for the unique needs of every patient. Responsibilities include Cost, Schedule and Quality management of the $1.5B Renovation of the 300 Pasteur Drive Stanford Hospital. The Director will lead teams of 20+ to execute the work.
This hybrid position requires four days onsite.
A Brief Overview
The Director of Construction will be responsible for delivery of the department's project workload, which is estimated to be $3.5 billion over a 10-year period. This position is an essential participant in the identification, prevention and/or resolution of major construction issues and claims, and is responsible for working with construction consultants and attorneys to assess and minimize risk in construction projects. The Director of Construction will work within the project formulation processes to ensure that thoughtful, timely and informed decisions are made in support of the Hospital Strategic Plan, as well as interface with a wide variety of Hospital staff, including CEO's COO's, medical directors and offices to identify institutional objectives and their requirements.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $91.60 - $121.38 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
