The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic job duties to support the technologists/sonographers and nurses with patient care activities. Participate with coordinating workflow in order to maintain efficient operation of the area. Conduct self in a manner that is conducive to teamwork within the area of practice. Significant training is provided prior to independent work shifts.

The Department of Imaging Sciences is composed of two hospitals and two outpatient imaging centers providing digital and computed radiography, digital fluoroscopy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT, MR, and angiography services. The Department of Imaging Sciences at Strong Memorial Hospital and its outpatient clinics are very busy and fast paced facilities. Hospital and business work environment geared toward patient care.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Assist the radiologic technologist with procedures including accompanying the technologist to the patient bedside for portable exams

Assist with safe transfer and transport of patients including assistance to parking lot via wheel chair and use of the Patient Transport Request system effectively

Keeps rooms stocked with necessary supplies from stockroom

Turn over exam rooms in preparation for the next patient. Tasks include: removal of dirty linen, red bags and garbage; wiping down all counters, putting clean linen on the table.

Performs ancillary clerical duties as necessary

Understand customers┐ and department┐s unique needs and expectations through on the job training

Frequent contact with patients, department personnel, physician's hospital personnel and patient's families

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Enrolled in high school or graduate, at least 16 years of age

Employment certificate/work permit for candidate less than 18 years old

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Excellent attention to detail

Arrive on time as scheduled

Provide proper and timely notification to supervisor of scheduled and unscheduled absences; in accordance with department protocol

Maintain professional appearance according to department dress code

Take initiative to work independently with minimal direction

Effectively communicate questions, concerns and suggestions to supervisor

Work effectively with people of diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Adhere to standard procedures

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standard
