Job Description
The Senior Manager of Digital Analytics & Data Science leads digital product and marketing analytics for Columbia Threadneedle. This role partners closely with product, marketing, technology, and business leaders to define measurement strategy, translate complex data into actionable insights, and proactively surface opportunities to improve go to market effectiveness and client experience. This leader operates comfortably in ambiguity, is comfortable presenting to senior leadership, brings a strong sense of curiosity, and thrives in a fast paced, agile environment.Key Responsibilities
Actively supervise the Digital Analytics team. Provide strategic leadership in order to optimize the team's effectiveness including coaching, feedback, development and performance management. Effectively prioritize the team's workload and ensure the team is keeping projects on time and budget, reporting progress, managing expectations and risk, and measuring post-implementation benefits. Create, implement, and optimize internal processes that enable the team to operate as effectively and efficiently as possible.
Build collaborative relationships with business partners. Understand their business objectives and priorities and ensure the team is providing analytics support and insight that helps them be successful. Identify opportunities for deep-dive analyses that drive tangible business results independently or in partnership with AIM and other data management teams. Present the data in a clear and compelling way to communicate insights, tell a story, and influence strategy.
Perform Online reporting, collection and analysis of digital metrics. Administer the site analytic reporting system. Oversee the collection and synthesis of data from multiple sources and help team members troubleshoot day-to-day operation issues, incorporating company knowledge and industry knowledge and mathematical and technological expertise.
Help manage the budget for digital analytics tools and analytics team. Partner with procurement and finance, as necessary, to manage the budget and vendor relationships. Maintain relationships with existing vendors and regularly monitor the vendor landscape to identify potential vendors to partner with. Set tagging and implementation strategy. Ensure all proper technical processes and documentation are utilized to ensure high data quality.
Help shape department KPIs, forecast annual goals, and develop ongoing executive reporting.
Required Qualifications
Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills and ability to use statistical analysis and modeling.
Strong relationship & communication skills in working with colleagues, as well as influencing customers on recommendations.
In-depth knowledge of business operations and processes with ability to articulate these processes to others.
Strong technical understanding of analytics tagging and implementation.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and analytics initiatives within complex, matrixed organizations.
7+ yrs of experience conducting analysis of digital data using modern analysis tools and skills.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent (4 years)
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience with Adobe Analytics and personalization platforms, including CJA, AJO, Adobe Analytics, or comparable enterprise tools.
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments, supporting multiple teams and delivery timelines.
Outstanding communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex analytics to senior and executive audiences.
Comfort with ambiguity, intellectual curiosity, and a demonstrated willingness to challenge the status quo.
Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, BI tools, and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).
MBA or advanced degree in analytics, statistics, economics, data science, or a related field.
In-Office Collaboration
We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $107,000 - $147,100/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
