Responsibilities:
GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for educational program assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation as part of a total curriculum for Nursing Practice. Intended audiences include staff, students, professionals, and communities. Provides expert educational services that are focused on the assurance of service excellence in practice, adherence to hospital and nursing policies, procedures, and practice standards, and the development of staff and team relationships within a program or service. Acts as an expert consultant on educational issues and their impact on care delivery. Integrates educational and clinical research into programming and participates in performance improvement and other activities as required.FT position available, flexible hours including some off shifts to meet educational needs of the service line.
Seeking an experienced Emergency Service Line Nurse Educator to join our team. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of nursing practice and patient care within our Emergency Services. The Nurse Educator will provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs for nursing staff, with a focus on evidence-based practices, professional development, quality improvement initiatives, and will help oversee a dynamic Educator team.
The main areas of focus will be working with unit-based educators to design, implement, and evaluate educational programs, providing ongoing education and training to enhance clinical competencies, leadership skills, and professional growth of nursing staff. With the quality and safety unit-based staff, ensure nursing staff are compliant with institutional policies, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards. Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence. Partner with nursing leadership, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to align educational initiatives with organizational goals.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Requirements: MS in Education, 3-5 years of acute care experience, and an active New York State RN license in good standing.
