Compensation Range:

$21.36 - $29.90

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE
With general direction and strong analysis skills to pull together employee record details from HR system of record, responds to routine and non-routine requests for employment and salary verification. As well, processes all Unemployment Insurance requests and assists with other duties and projects as assigned by Manager of HR Compliance and Employee Records.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responds to routine and non-routine requests for employment and salary verifications.
  • Directs requests to The Work Number where appropriate.
  • Responds to Legal offices, government agencies, US Marshalls and other law enforcement agencies when requests cannot be handled through the automated system.
  • Makes copies of records gathered for subpoena requests and insurance claims.
  • Coordinates requests with total rewards- benefit office, payroll and legal department when needed.
  • Processes all Unemployment Insurance requests from NY and other states as needed.
  • Reviews records and provides the State with documentation regarding reason for termination.
  • Works with HR Business Partners to gather information about the circumstances surrounding the termination and provides this to the appropriate state representative by way of a questionnaire response within deadlines by the State.
  • May assist to prep internal University of Rochester witness to attend UI hearings and or gain support from third party administrator. - vendor for UI process.
  • May assist with the appeal process.
  • Logs information into NY State SIDES system.
  • Responds to state inquiries in a timely manner avoiding fines and fees for late filing.
  • Generates reports as needed regarding unemployment trends and costs.
  • Assists with audits and or file clerk functions for employee records personnel file storage as needed.
  • Works on other projects and supports the office by filling in for other staff as needed.
  • Performs or participates in other projects or administrative duties as delegated by supervisor.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's degree and 3 years of relevant experience required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
