The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.

Fulltime position available (40 hours), primarily M-F, 8:30am-5pm.

The Division of Adolescent Medicine is seeking a RN to be a part of their dynamic interdisciplinary team providing care to adolescent and young adult patients with eating disorders, LGBTQ+ health needs and reproductive health issues in the outpatient and inpatient setting​s.

This nursing role would provide direct and indirect patient care services including but not limited to: Outpatient services: Assist with gynecologic procedures. Insert nasogastric tubes. Teach IM and SQ injections to patients and families. Monitor and assist with managing patient flow during regular clinic hours. Triage phone calls from patients, families, providers, consult with health care providers as necessary and inbasket support for providers.  Monitor and manage weekly clinic schedule and adjust accordingly.  Work with internal and external providers such as the Western New York Comprehensive Care Center for Eating Disorders care manager and parent peer mentor to ensure access to care and care coordination as indicated. Monitor clinic utilization and track patient satisfaction. Provide patient/family/provider education. Review incoming clinical information to assess for appropriateness of referrals.   Inpatient services: Assist inpatient team with the care of patients with eating disorders and suicidal/recreational ingestions including discharge coordination and weekly inpatient interdisciplinary rounds. Identify patients eligible for eating disorder studies and refer to study coordinator. Minimum 1-2 years of experience required. Experience with adolescents preferred.
