Responsibilities:

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Assist licensed clinical staff in the delivery of patient care by performing basic procedures as delineated on the Skills Inventory Checklist that contribute to the well-being, comfort and safety of patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, perform direct basic patient care contributing to the well-being, comfort, and safety of patients.
- Assists in the preparation of patients for procedures and vital signs collection as directed.
- Collects data regarding patient’s physical needs and documents any data collected on the appropriate flow sheet(s).
- Attends to patient’s environmental needs by maintain patient’s comfort and a safe clutter free environment.
- Communicates with health care members, patient, and family as directed by a licensed nurse. Maintains confidentiality and patient privacy. Treats patient/families and staff with respect, kindness, and courtesy.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

- Successfully completed 2 semesters of college and remain enrolled in an approved college program by successfully completing all courses and remain in good standing at school required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
