Compensation Range:

$130,804.00 - $196,248.00

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

GENERAL SUMMARY: Leads nursing quality initiatives by developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies that enhance patient care and safety. Ensures compliance with regulatory standards, fosters a culture of continuous improvement, and drives excellence in nursing practices. Oversees quality improvement programs, mentors nursing staff, and integrates evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes and organizational performance.

FT Position Available

The Director of Nursing Policy, Safety and Patient Outcomes is responsible for planning and implementing the nursing quality outcome monitoring program in alignment with key University of Rochester Medicine and Nursing Practice strategic plan priorities.  The Director is responsible for planning, directing, controlling and evaluating the activities, functions, and management of personnel in the service area including data management, controlled substance handling, clinical staffing committee, and the safety nurse program to ensure adherence with quality and safety best practices, scope of practice, regulatory preparedness, policy relevance, and improved patient outcomes. The Director exercises judgement and initiative providing leadership, operational management, and clinical expertise, in the planning, development, and deployment of plans that support excellence in nursing care delivery and regulatory preparedness across all nursing service lines working in collaboration with the Chief Nurse Executive, Nursing Practice Executive Council (NPEC), Nurse Managers, Professional Nursing Council and sub-council members, Nursing Practice members and the University of Rochester Medicine Quality Office.

Requirements: RN with current New York State License; Master’s degree in nursing or other relevant specialty required, DNP preferred, and 5 years of relevant leadership- management experience in an academic medical center or teritary setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
