What You’ll Be Doing

  • This is a remote position located in Indiana. Any applicants need to live in the state of Indiana to qualify for this role.

  • Answering incoming calls from patients, referral sources, hospitals, insurance companies and any other person/entity needing to communicate with the company

  • Obtain patients demographic, insurance, referral, records and other necessary information in order to schedule the patient for an appointment

  • Processes and maintains third party referral information and coordinates referral procedures with clinical units and billing

  • Apply physician preferences and requirements when scheduling an appointment

  • Reviews medical chart for past notes or communication to determine the best way to schedule a patient or distribute the phone call

  • Interface with billing for insurance and authorization requirements

  • Verifies eligibility and coordinates office and hospital procedures for proper pre-certification/authorization with third parties.

  • Keeps current on the insurances we have contracted with and accept

  • Maintains files for contacts and phone numbers for third party communication for all offices. Makes copies of forms that are distributed to patients.

  • Assists patients with portal access, log-ins or issues.

  • Reviews and performs task requests by physicians or other employees

  • Maintains strictest confidentiality

  • Performs related work as required and other duties assigned

What We Expect from You

  • One year or more of experience working in a call center, medical practice or an insurance organization.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Electronic Medical Records Experience Knowledge of third party referral processes

  • Currently reside in Indiana

  • Skill in computer applications in word processing and spreadsheets

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures

  • Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions

  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities

  • Ability to be an effective communicator with regular and frequent contact with patients, insurance companies, and other outside agencies

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal departments

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have thorough knowledge in computer information systems.

Work Environment

This job operates in a remote setting environment in the state of Indiana.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, & phones. All applicants must live in the state of Indiana to qualify.
