This position is responsible for following approved procedures, for the monitoring, servicing, and maintenance of all instrument, electrical and control equipment and systems at the Osprey Combined Cycle Generating Facility. Must be familiar with emergency procedures to follow during periods of abnormal operation. Accountable for knowing and adhering to all location safety procedures including Lockout and personal protective equipment. Performs all maintenance disciplines (I&CE, Insturment, Controls, and Electrical) of plant equipment; troubleshoots, repairs, and calibrates equipment. Position must monitor equipment performance through test, analysis, and report variances.
Perform maintenance on all plant electrical equipment, such as motor control centers (MCC), instrumentation, control systems, distributed control system (DCS), motors, power plant electrical equipment AC and DC, etc.
Knowledgeable in the use of electrical test equipment / tool, megger, multimeter, etc.
Trained and knowledgeable in the safe and proper use of grounding cables, electrical gloves, electrical blankets, arc flash suits, 4160-volt breaker racking device, etc.
Perform trouble shooting from control system logic.
Work safely and effectively in a team environment.
Learn basic skills in other craft areas such as operation and mechanical.
Adhere to all station safety and environmental programs and procedures.
Ability to operate station vehicles such as forklifts, manlift, and trucks.
Perform precision inspections and troubleshooting of electrical and instrument equipment such as motors, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, voltage meters, breakers, etc
This position is a multiskilled role that requires qualification within the Instrument, Electrical, and Controls (IC&E) job family. It also requires continual training for future qualification in other field skillsets (Mechanical and Operations).
Basic/Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Prior experience in Instrument, Controls, and Electrical preferably with DCS and PLC experience.
Must be journeyman level in Instruments, Controls and Electrical (IC&E) discipline, with an expectation to obtain skills in mechanical and operations though site training program.
