Position summary:  

The Setup Technician is responsible for changeovers of creels and tufting machines, as well as loading and unloading   creels to service creels and tufting machines, efficiently and in accordance with the specification sheets to ensure  

minimum downtime.

Educational requirements:

  •  High school diploma or GED required

Skills and experience:  

  • Intermediate math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals and  percentages required  

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written  

  • Previous tufting experience preferred  

  • Previous textile experience preferred  

  • Must have normal color vision or average to above average shade discernment  

  • Interface White Belt and 6S training preferred  

Essential duties:  

  • Locate paperwork and master for next run and place at machine  

  • Check next creel set for correct thread-up and stage at Tufting machines  

  • Cut out creels set and burn in new set  

  • Run burns through needles and check for misdraws  

  • Record changeover time on production report  

  • Operate Tufting machines  

  • Relieve Operators for breaks  

  • Load and unload all creels to the proper thread up  

  • Recognize quality problems and make corrections when operating Tufting machine  

  • Deposit all yarn and headers scrap into specific containers to be recycled  

  • Maximize recycling of all recyclable materials and minimize waste  

  • Maintain a daily log of production  

  • Maintain housekeeping  

  • Comply with safety rules  

  • Comply with environmental regulations  

  • Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)  

  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed.  

  • Understand and support Interface commitment to sustainability.  

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical demands:  

  • Walking up and down stairs  

  • Considerable standing  

  • Continuous lifting of up to 15 lbs  

  • Occasional lifting of up to 25lbs  

Work environment:  

  • Non climate-controlled factory environment
