What You’ll Do:
Design and execute research projects to develop novel algorithms for medical imaging.
Work effectively with MIM and GE HealthCare colleagues from our clinical science, engineering and product development teams.
Solve complex research problems using mathematics, statistics, data management, and software programming skills.
Manage your research projects with substantial independence. Work efficiently as the project owner to define resource needs, execute experiments, and interpret results.
Communicate clearly to your team lead, stakeholders within the company, and external research partners.
Create and maintain technical documentation to report research methods and results.
Keep abreast of the academic literature in important research areas
Serve as a technical resource to colleagues and a mentor to junior staff.
What You’ll Need:
Advanced degree in computer science, biomedical engineering, applied math or other algorithmic-centric discipline or equivalent experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Research experience that includes completion of at least one significant research project as the primary researcher.
Intellectual Curiosity
Preferred qualifications include:
Completed PhD degree.
Academic publications or other published records of research production.
Experience in medical imaging, numerical methods, registration and segmentation algorithms.
Proven ability to lead the development of novel algorithms in medical imaging
Track record of development of algorithms used in clinical practice
Programming experience in Python, Java, MATLAB
