The Corporate Performance Planner plays a key role in supporting our brand’s growth by managing financial and inventory strategies for our Retail and Wholesale businesses. This role ensures that every collection—rich in detail and craftsmanship—reaches our partners in the right quantities, at the right time, and with the right balance of creativity and commercial success.
Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Merchandise Planning
- Develop financial plans and monthly estimates to support the company’s performance objectives and goals for the Retail and Wholesale channels
- Build and support targeted growth strategies for Retail and Wholesale to maximize sales, margin, and inventory turn opportunity by channel
- Align strategies across Retail and Wholesale to improve KPI’s, to drive profitable sales, and to deliver a clear Johnny Was brand vision
Reporting & Analysis
- Streamline reporting to allow for improved business analysis and clear identification of risks and opportunities
- Utilize data to deliver clear, insightful sales and inventory performance reporting for leadership and the organization
- Identify business drivers, minimize risks, and support strategic decision making through detailed analysis of sales trends, KPI’s, customer demand, and product performance
- Work closely with Head of Retail and Head of Wholesale to support productive performance reporting and analysis and to deliver requested ad hoc project work
Inventory Management & Optimization
- Track and manage inventory positions across the channels for Retail and Wholesale to ensure optimal stock levels, to minimize risk of excess or shortages, and to own and communicate ATS
- Collaborate with leadership, operations, production, and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and heightened sell-through performance
- Recommend in-season adjustments—such as reorders, cancellations, or markdowns—based on sell-through data and market performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Partnership
- Partner closely with the Retail, Wholesale, Merchandising, and Production teams to align on assortment, imu, product flow, and delivery cadence to achieve optimum performance results
- Partner with Finance Team to manage open-to-buy (OTB) and gross margin objectives
- Collaborate with key Retail and Wholesale partners to provide data-driven performance insights, ensuring a strong partnership experience reflective of the Johnny Was brand in support of our long-range plan
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in planning, strategic performance analysis, and business management within the women’s apparel or lifestyle industry
- Advanced in excel, proficient in using business intelligent tools, experience with ERP systems, and a track record of successful process implementation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Passion for the Johnny Was aesthetic—artful, bohemian, and globally inspired—with an understanding of the contemporary fashion market
