Environmental Group Manager –  Investigation & Remediation

What You’ll Do

As a Group Manager within our Investigation and Remediation practice group, you will partner with clients and internal teams to successfully deliver projects on time, on budget, and above expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a team player: Collaborate closely with colleagues across the firm, actively listen to client needs, and develop practical, client-focused solutions.
  • Lead with energy: Inspire and guide project teams while maintaining momentum and ensuring smooth project execution—even when challenges arise.
  • Drive performance: Track project profitability, timelines, staffing, and resource allocation to ensure operational excellence and successful outcomes.
  • Mentor and manage: Lead, motivate, and support local team members by managing workloads, providing coaching and feedback, tracking group performance, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Grow the business: Build and strengthen relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners through exceptional project delivery and targeted business development efforts.
  • Deliver technical excellence: Contribute to and oversee complex environmental projects, including:
    • Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
    • Knowledge and application of TCEQ programs and regulations (TRRP, LPST, VCP, etc.), TX RRC requirements, and EPA standards
    • Design and oversight of soil, soil vapor, and groundwater investigations
    • Remedial action planning and implementation oversight
    • Proposal development, cost estimating, and technical reporting
    • Data evaluation and report preparation

What We’d Love to See in You

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field
  • Prior experience managing a team
  • 7+ years of direct environmental consulting or related experience aligned with the responsibilities of this role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental regulations and regulatory programs impacting industrial, commercial, and energy-sector clients
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Passion for helping grow and expand a client base through diverse business development initiatives
  • Detail-oriented leadership style with the ability to quickly organize and manage changing priorities
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record

Compensation Range:

$80,000.00 - $119,000.00
