Valmet, Inc. is looking for a Senior Manager, to lead the execution of Valmet’s global Supplier Quality Management strategy within a specific geographical region by managing SQM resources, aligning supplier quality activities with business and stakeholders’ priorities, and ensuring consistent implementation of processes and standards. The role drives supplier quality performance, capability development, and collaboration across functions and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the regional SQM team, ensuring effective execution of supplier quality deliverables, development and driving talent and performance management.
  • Collaborate with Business Area SQM Managers to align priorities, allocate resources, and balance global strategy with local execution.
  • Implement global SQM processes, tools, and reporting systems to ensure consistent performance monitoring and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Promote a shift from reactive issue resolution to preventive quality planning and supplier capability building.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Production, Business Area, Projects, and relevant Quality functions to embed quality early in the supply lifecycle.
  • Contribute as a member of the SQM Management Team to shape and implement global SQM strategy.
  • Lead or support global strategic initiatives to enhance supplier development maturity, digitalization, and operational excellence.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong expertise in supplier quality processes, including audits, NCR/CAPA, risk management, and supplier development
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing technologies and quality systems relevant to capital project suppliers
  • Proficient in using quality tools (e.g., 8D, FMEA, Control Plans) and data analytics for performance monitoring
  • Knowledge of international standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and industry-specific QHSE practices
  • Ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and allocate resources effectively across dynamic project environments
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coaching skills across diverse and matrixed organizations
  • Comfortable with digital quality tools, supplier portals, and reporting systems

Experience & Education

  • University degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or related technical field
  • 15+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain roles in industrial or capital project environments
  • Proven leadership experience in managing regional or cross-functional teams
  • Experience working in a matrix organization with global processes and regional execution
  • Background in supplier audits, qualification, and capability development preferred
