The Position

The Assistant Vice President (AVP), Finance will lead the Legal Entities Center of Excellence (COE), External Reporting and Consolidation Accounting teams. This includes overseeing the U.S. Controllers team, the Swiss Legal Entities team, and the Netherlands Legal Entities team, which are responsible for accounting, close, and reporting activities for the respective legal entities, managing strategic partner accounting activities, enabling cross-workstream visibility and streamlining ways of working. The AVP, Finance will also manage the Consolidation Accounting & External Reporting team, ensuring the accurate and timely consolidation of financial statements. The AVP, Finance will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP, local statutory, internal policies and applicable regulations. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple regions, teams and functions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate U.S. GAAP, international accounting standards, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate and support audit activity.

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

  • Leverage strengths of the current finance team members, help to clarify roles and responsibilities and develop and implement training programs in order to maximize and reach optimal individual and organizational goals

  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial reporting and accounting operations.

  • Work closely with other finance teams, legal, tax, shared service center, and business units to support strategic initiatives and ensure alignment of financial objectives.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least five years in a leadership role.

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility; a proactive, hands-on strategic thinker

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards.

  • Solid experience with audit activities across the general ledger accounts, gross to net, revenue recognition, and accounting for investments/partnerships

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities that include commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across functions, regions and outside partners.

  • Ability and desire to translate complex financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance

  • Proficiency in financial systems and software, including ERP systems.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and excellence.
