Therapists work with the child and family to improve overall mental health by taking a strengths based approach with the goal of keeping the child in the home setting and out of inpatient hospital or Residential treatment or foster care.

The Master's level therapist provides in-home, eco-systemic structural family therapy for the 8 families the team is assigned to. This position, along with a Bachelor's Level Therapist, function as a therapeutic team, providing individual, and family therapy to client and their families. The family based team work with the child and family to improve overall mental health by taking a strengths based approach with the goal of keeping the child in the home setting and out of inpatient hospital or Residential treatment or foster care.

Pay Rate: $25.00/hr

Bonus:

$1000.00 to be paid in 3 increments:

  • a. $250.00- After completing 90-day probation
  • b. $250.00- After competing 6 months of employment
  • c. $500.00- After 12 months of employment

The Mental Health Professional is a member of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for assessment, treatment plan development, and service delivery. The Mental Health Professional provides individual and team-delivered therapy to children and their families as clinically indicated. Therapists work with the child and family to improve overall mental health.

Job Accountabilities:

  • The Mental health Professional provides individual, family and parent therapy sessions using the ESFT model through a team delivered approach.
  • Support and promote strengths-based approaches to children, adolescents, and families in their attachment, self-regulation, co-caregiver alliances, and executive functioning
  • Maintain compliance with CASSP principles & principles of cultural competence
  • Provide support to families in successfully managing crisis situations.
  • Maintain compliance with the Medical Assistance and Managed Care regulations in accordance with Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s outpatient program regulations
  • Communication with families, schools, school districts, managed care organizations, referral sources and other providers as necessary to ensure satisfaction with services received, continuity of care and promote quality client care Promote program growth, quality of services
  • Maintain productivity and complete documentation within established guidelines
  • Complete initial assessments and treatment plans, and updates within established program timelines
  • Attend staff training and supervisions as assigned
  • 3 hours of supervision time weekly

Requirements:

Education:

  • GRADUATE DEGREE in Psychology, Psychiatry, Social Work, Nursing, Education, Rehabilitation or Human Services plus 2 years experience in a CASSP system program.
  • Be a licensed registered nurse (RN) with 5 years of experience including 2 years of experience in a CASSP system program plus have certification by the Department’s Office of Mental Health (OMH) as a mental health family based worker.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, nursing, rehabilitation, education, pre-med, theology, anthropology, or a degree in the field of human services plus certification as a mental health family based worker.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass required background clearances (FBI, Childline, Criminal, driving record)

Work Experience: 

  • Previous experience working with children and families in any setting
  • At least 2 years working with children and adolescence (CASSP)

Location: Berks County-Travel throughout Berks County. Home office is located in Wyomissing.
