Position Overview:

The Associate Export Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for the execution of DigiKey's export compliance program. The Associate Export Trade Compliance Specialist will review and evaluate transactions to ensure total compliance with all U.S. Trade Regulations. Associate Export Trade Compliance Specialists will identify and research areas of concern such as restricted end uses and end users and Denied Parties matches - and subsequently authorize, deny, or when applicable, escalate transactions to the Export Management Team in accordance with U.S. law and internal company directives.

This is not exclusively an essential onsite role, though may require some onsite attendance.

• Ensure company-wide export and global transportation policies, procedures, and controls are being followed
• Support export shipping activities
• Ensure International Export processes and paperwork complies with U.S. regulations and company objectives
• Provide accurate interpretation of applicable U.S. Government export regulations
• Working knowledge of, and ability to apply laws and regulations related to trade compliance business activities in the Americas; must be proficient working with, and the requirements of, trade authorities globally
• Maintain a current, comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Departments of Commerce regulations as well as the policies and practices of these and other government agencies involved in export regulations
• Analyze and interpret requirements for compliance as the relate to - Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Federal Trade Regulations (FTR), U.S. Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and other applicable Government Agency rules and regulations
• Provide research and other assistance to Managers working on trade development programs
• Perform investigations pertaining to trade compliance with applicable export laws

• Advise internal departments/teams on export requirements; day-to-day compliance matters which are not limited to but include customer and transaction screening

• Ensure all product flow meets U.S. and international trade compliance requirements and that document controls are in place to support full trade compliance
• Generate reliable and technically sound work product. Ensure that controversial questions, external conflicts, administrative problems and similar matters are discussed with the leadership

• Perform intermediate level review and internal audit of the execution of DigiKey's export compliance program.
• Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request. 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Business Administration or similar area of study or equivalent

0-2 years of Trade Compliance Experience
• 1-3 years of experience working at DigiKey
• Understanding of the various functions of DigiKey, how they work together as well as the industry DigiKey operates in
• Understanding of DigiKey brand and its principles
Fluency in English and Chinese are essential.

Fluency in Thai / Vietnamese is a bonus but not necessary.
Able to work under pressure and acknowledge criticism.

Able to uphold integrity by consistently adhering to strong moral principles.
Able to maintain patience and detail-oriented mindset under speedy work conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
 

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is:

$18.00

to

$24.50

Many factors influence the determination of base pay within a range, including the candidate’s work experience in related roles; the candidate’s knowledge, skills, capabilities, and performance; the relative pay of other DigiKey employees in similar roles; and the budget available for the position.
