Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Brand Manager / Dealer Business Manager IT whose passion for building strong relationships and driving brand success will help us elevate our presence in the market. This role is responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with fuel brand partners, vendors, and dealers. The Circle K Wholesale Fuels Brand Manager will also play a key role in event development and planning, such as our networking events and web series, organizing and participating in trade shows.
Key Responsibilities
- Fuel brand relationship management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for fuel vendors, ensuring productive partnerships and alignment with our brand objectives.
- Identify and develop potential merchandise vendor relationships, aiming to create a compelling merchandise program for our dealer network.
- Provide operations support to the Wholesale Fuels operations team
Brand Manager Job duties
Fuel Brand Relationship Management
- Act as a liaison between the fuel brands and Circle K Wholesale Fuels
- Communicate brand updates and compliance notifications to Wholesale Fuels team & customers
- Monitor, analyze, and distribute mystery shop reports to Operations team
- Monitor & analyze social media sites and internal customer service lines
- Track progress on brand programs and technology requirements
- Attend meetings with brand representatives
Event Development & Planning
- Lead the planning and execution of development-focused events, such as Connect & Create, designed to foster collaboration and growth within our dealer and franchisee network.
- Coordinate logistics, develop promotional materials, and oversee event participation to maximize brand visibility and engagement.
Trade Show Planning & Participation
- Organize company participation in relevant trade shows and industry events, including booth design, staffing, and promotional strategy.
- Represent the company at trade shows in collaboration with our development team, building brand awareness and generating new partnership opportunities.
Market Mastery Planning & Promotion
- Develop and execute “Market Mastery” monthly web series by creating vendor partnerships with the intention of providing value to our dealers in their day-to-day business.
- Promote brand initiatives through targeted campaigns and dealer engagement programs.
Participation in the Dealer Business Manager in Training program will include, but is not limited to:
- Counsel wholesale customers on retailing factors including competitive pricing, customer service, and retail facility appearance and cleanliness, assisting them in managing their business, improving their bottom line and maintaining compliance with brand and image requirements
- Offer guidance to station operators on station management functions including employee selection and training, money management, and inventory management
- Survey competitive retail prices throughout the territory and evaluate trends and market conditions; recommends retail adjustments within established strategies and company guidelines
- Provides support for the development of ancillary profit centers
- Monitor facility physical conditions and ensures appropriate maintenance activity is conducted
- Ensure station operator compliance with franchise agreement obligations and laws related to environmental record keeping and safety standards. Verifies station monthly CSLD testing compliance
- Ensure station compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements - stays abreast of industry related laws, audits and enforces adherence to requirements, and makes appropriate recommendations to management
- Help with the investigation and resolution of customer complaints
- Coordinate all activity related to the sales, marketing, and merchandising of company products
- Energize and motivate station operator organization through value added meetings, timely and positive communications, and effective sales calls
- Encourage station operators to develop strong community relations
- Maintain knowledge of multiple supplier brand programs, requirements and procedures
- Deliver customer buy-in and compliance with corporate and supplier brand programs
- Review P&L and other reports on a daily and period basis for opportunities to maximize territory profitability, cash flow, and customer satisfaction; Ensure financial integrity of station operators and our Company by routinely monitoring station gasoline volume levels, investigating significant volume improvement opportunities, and consulting with station operators on the optimum implementation of marketing programs to increase sales and profit
- Develop, execute, and maintain territory business plans, evaluating performance data, and providing action plans to the Regional Operations Director; Assume accountability for individual site profitability and the attainment of quantitative and qualitative territory performance objectives
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend sensible station capital projects
- Assists with the collection of accounts receivable balances on a routine basis
- Increase wholesale fuel volumes through customer counseling and acquisition of competitive conversion accounts and new to industry sites
- Work with executive management as it relates to the dealer business
- Actively solicit territory new business opportunities; develop new account proposals and negotiate proposal elements to deliver new business growth targets
- Qualify prospective customers through financial analysis and candidate evaluation
- Control expenses
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, business networks, best practice monitoring; and professional societies
Other duties as delegated by the Wholesale Director team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in retail operations or brand management, vendor relations, or event planning.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly for field engagement.
- Experience in the fuel or merchandise industry is a plus.
Work Schedule
- Office Days: Mondays & Fridays
- Field Days: Tuesdays through Thursdays (riding with/on behalf of operations)
- Adjustments to schedule to evolve/adjust to business needs
