Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Professional Billing oversees daily operations within the professional billing support functions, ensuring timely, accurate execution of all aspects of the billing activities. This role leads front-line staff, reviews performance metrics, and prioritizes departmental workflows to align with organizational objectives. This role manages team members, providing hands on coach performance feedback and day to day support. Ensures work processes and personnel policies are consistently adhered to by staff. Continuously seeks opportunities and provides recommendations for innovation and process improvement while maintaining standards of accuracy, prompt response, and customer service. Works with other departments to ensure positive, harmonious, interdepartmental relationships.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Minimum 5 years’ progressive professional billing experience.
- AA degree in business preferred.
- Emphasis on third party payment and regulatory provisions preferred.
Knowledge:
- Must have knowledge of Medi-Cal, Medicare, Workers Compensation and third-party payers billing and collections, CPT coding, ICD10, and HCPCs coding.
- Experience with 837 P, 837 I and 835 claim transactions.
- Knowledge of corporate compliance programs.
- Requires working knowledge of MS Office (i.e., Excel and Word).
- Must have experience with Hospital billing systems, experience with Epic a plus.
