About the Role:
We are seeking an IT Business Partner (Aged Care) for a Permanent Full-Time opportunity at location: THQ Blackburn, VIC.
Purpose of the Role:
The IT Business Partner is a strategic advisor and trusted collaborator who connects technology, people and purpose to enable The Salvation Army’s mission and community outcomes. The role translates mission and business goals into practical, sustainable technology roadmaps that deliver value, are operationally feasible and aligned with funding and regulatory requirements.
The IT Business Partner builds strong relationships, identifies opportunities to improve insight, decision making and service delivery, and partners with delivery teams to ensure successful outcomes for stakeholders and the communities we serve.
Proven experience working within Aged Care or health services, with an understanding of regulated environments, care systems, clinical or client data, and technology enablement that supports safe, compliant service delivery.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership
Act as a strategic advisor to senior leaders, aligning technology direction with organisational priorities and mission
Lead the development of forward-looking technology roadmaps to enable long-term capability and growth
Demand Shaping and Portfolio Planning
Shape and influence demand by aligning business outcomes with strategic technology investment priorities
Govern portfolio planning and prioritisation, balancing value, risk, cost, and organisational capacity
Solution Shaping and Delivery
Facilitate cross-functional co-design of strategy and technology concepts that are fit for purpose and optimise customer value
As the voice-of-customer, oversee the design of scalable, sustainable solutions aligned to enterprise architecture and strategic goals
Provide leadership oversight to ensure delivery outcomes, risk management, and realisation of business benefits
Value, Insight and Continuous Improvement
Champion a customer-centric, value-driven approach, defining success measures and ensuring measurable business impact
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through data-led insights, feedback, and service optimisation
Governance, Risk and Compliance
Provide leadership oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and organisational standards
Uphold robust governance and risk management practices across the technology portfolio
Education and Qualifications Required:
Tertiary qualifications in IT, Business or related field, or equivalent experience
Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills across business and technology
Proven leadership in delivering large-scale, technology-enabled transformation
Strategic, outcome-focused mindset with a strong emphasis on value realisation
Skilled in human-centred discovery, co-design, and iterative delivery – shaping solutions through customer insight rather than technology first
Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for technology initiatives
Strong business analysis capability with sound technical acumen
Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments (NFP, health, or government desirable)
Skills and Attributes:
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust quickly
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability, clearly articulating issues, options, and trade-offs
Ability to lead and manage multiple concurrent initiatives in complex environments
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving ideas from concept to delivery
Consultative, collaborative, resilient, and outcome-driven, with a focus on continuous improvement
Requirements of the role:
A National Criminal History Check is required
