This is a role where the architect must design ways to break the app into microservices using AWS Infrastructure.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AWS Senior Software Architect to join our IT team. This position will be full-time, hybrid, and is a contract position.

What You’ll Do

• Design and document scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions that meet business objectives

• Break down monolithic applications into microservices using AWS infrastructure

• Analyze complex business problems and translate them into architectural blueprints

• Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to align on technical strategy

• Define system architecture, technology standards, integration patterns, and data flows

• Provide technical leadership throughout the solution lifecycle—design, implementation, and maintenance

• Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and services based on technical and business needs

• Ensure solutions comply with architectural governance, security standards, and best practices

• Conduct code and architecture reviews and mentor development teams

What You’ll Need

Required:

• 7+ years of software development experience

• 5+ years in a solution or enterprise architecture role

• Experience leading technical teams or serving as a lead developer

• Deep understanding of modern architectural patterns (microservices, serverless, event-driven)

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.

• Strong knowledge of API design, integration, and security protocols (OAuth2, JWT)

• Understanding of database architecture, caching, and data modeling

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and distributed systems

Certifications (Preferred):

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect

• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$65.50 - $75.50 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role receive paid time off and may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
