About the Role:

Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: NBIX) is offering the opportunity to gain strategic meeting & congress planning experience in the world of biotechnology. Our intern program offers exposure to meeting & congress responsibilities as well as collaborating with cross-functional partnerships within the commercial organization. The Meetings & Congress team is a fun, fast-paced, and collaborative group whose work is instrumental to success and growth for the business.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Supporting a range of activities, including meeting and conference logistics including but not limited to registration, attendee communications, air/ground travel, rooming lists, food and beverage requirements, meeting space and A/V requirements, and group activities

  • Assists with supporting external vendor communications, including hotels/venues, destination management companies and other logistical vendors, to ensure deliverables and timelines are successfully met to expectation

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a given time, ensuring deadlines are met, and issues are managed as they arise

  • Interacting with Commercial, Medical, Training & Development and other internal departments within the company

  • Collaborating with a mentor team of cross-functional team members as well as the other interns in the class

  • Completing a special project and presenting the recommendations to senior management upon completion

Requirements:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree with an interest in marketing, business and/or hospitality meeting/congress management

  • Prior experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry would be an asset but is not required

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think creatively and be a team player

  • Offer flexibility with a willingness to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Interest in attending various program events, including social gatherings, career development workshops, and more

  • Ability to commit to a 10-week, full-time summer program

  • CVENT experience optional
