JOB SUMMARY: 

The Lab Technical position requires a general knowledge of science, including some basic chemical analyses. The position will conduct mainly QC tests on raw materials and manufactured products, but may also include assisting with microbiological testing and other laboratory testing as required. This position will assist the Laboratory Manager and Director of Technical Services in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of Zeco lab testing. Organizing and cleaning the lab and performing testing on field samples may also be required when applicable.

CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions)

• Provide all basic QC analytical functions for raw materials and finished goods.
• Support the functions of the microbiology laboratory by preparing testing material such as buffer solutions, agar plates, test tubes, sample solutions, broths and inoculating correctly.
• Assist with microbiological testing as required Work quickly and efficiently and stay on task.
• Assist with materials acquisition Support research and development projects in the laboratory.
• Maintain cleanliness of laboratory and assist with records, samples, and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare test solutions, compounds, or reagents for chemical laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
• Complete additional projects as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification

Required: Basic knowledge of science, especially chemistry and microbiology, with understanding of scientific principles and techniques and ability to work well on a team

Preferred: Any variety of lab experience

EDUCATION:

Required: Associates degree with concentrations in laboratory techniques or commensurate work experience

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 0-2 years’ experience in industrial chemical/microbiology laboratory.

Preferred: 2+ years’ experience in industrial chemical/microbiology laboratory

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
