Associate Project Manager

First Orion is seeking an Associate Project Manager to join our energetic, fast-paced environment. This position will assist our Program Manager with planning and executing prioritized projects and feature requests to meet business goals within agreed upon scope and schedule. 

 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Foster collaboration with data science, product, development, and operational teams to design, implement and support telecom solutions 

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive projects and features to be delivered on-time and within scope 

  • Assist with process improvement efforts driven by business and project goals 

  • Ensure consistency and adherence to company standards, processes, and policies in all projects and feature requests 

  • Assist with process of issue/risk identification and resolution 

  • Create escalation paths for topics and issues that cannot be resolved in a timely manner 

  • Communicate project status, issues, and risks in order to achieve alignment with business goals 

  • Create and manage project plans 

  • Manage project related documentation 

  • Develop communication protocols/plans for projects and feature requests 

  • Coordinate and run internal meetings, including build-out of agenda, minutes, and action items 

  • Facilitate release planning meetings for Initiatives 

  • Manage releases with core Initiative teams and coordinate signoffs and deployment schedules 

 

What you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 

  • Good communication (i.e. written, verbal, presentation), leadership and negotiation skills 

  • Excellent project management, problem solving, and analytical skills, and the ability to execute a project within the agreed scope 

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, effective time management skills 

  • Ability to accomplish tasks timely with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment when required 

  • Ability to evaluate multiple projects to identify risks, obligations and scope gaps on projects 

  • Ability to anticipate issues and solve practical problems 

  • Highly adaptable to changing needs within the organizations- adapts to rapidly changing priorities and resilient to coping with conflicting demands, able to prioritize duties and work under pressure 

 

Bonus Points: 

  • 2+ years of IT project management experience delivering medium-to-large complex projects  

  • Hands-on experience with industry tools, such as JIRA, Confluence, Lucid Chart (or similar process flow tool), as well as any type of Product Roadmap tool knowledge  

  • PMP or PgMP certification 

  • Experience managing Telecom projects
