A DAY IN THE LIFE

The R&D Technician will play a key role in our team’s development of cutting-edge soil, water and vapor treatment technologies. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing, top notch, cutting-edge environmental team that’s looking to make a positive impact on the world.

  • Perform cutting edge R&D experiments using ion exchange and adsorbent resins, focused on developing novel treatment technologies for water and air streams.
  • Design experiments, organize and implement tests, ensure their relevance, collect results, compile reports of tests and summaries.
  • Be an integral part of our safety culture, approaching all aspects of work with a safety-first attitude.
  • Assist with authoring scientific articles, as well as participating/presenting in national and international conferences.
  • Assist with full-scale system commissioning, startup.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in a Laboratory Technician or R&D role
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments (P&T GC, LC/MS/MS, TOC, UV-Vis spectrophotometer) for internal and external clients.
  • Self-motivated with a high sense of urgency, willing to take hands on work, and be able to manage several projects and tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team
  • Competence with chromatographic, wet chemistry techniques, and general laboratory skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Google Suite products
  • Comfortable using hand and portable power tools
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required
