Serves as a member of the Management Development Program (MDP) and participates in ten weeks of Core Training and one year of On-the-Job (OJT) training. Core Training responsibilities include participation in classroom training, observations of departmental presentations, interaction with senior management, peer networking, and working in teams on two group project assignments. OJT responsibilities vary by department and are assigned by the department manager. The position may be responsible for additional projects as assigned by the department manager or Leadership Development Manager-MDP.
Department Description:
Provides relationship management and fiduciary advisory services to corporate retirement accounts, concentrating on mid- to large-size, complex advisory relationships.
Department Responsibilities:
Lead interactions with mid- to large-size, complex clients, over the phone or on-site, to present and discuss investment advice, investment reviews, plan reviews, participant education strategies, plan design features, fee benchmarking and third-party service provider reviews as requested.
Support new business development by assisting with completion of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and presentations.
Oversee transition and conversion of assets to new third party service provider, including collection of required documents and contracts. Facilitate ongoing communication with third-party service providers.
Complete assigned account reviews in a timely manner and maintain client communications on regulatory, legal, accounting, fiduciary and ERISA matters.
Confirm with recordkeeper that all required paperwork is in place for payment of our services.
Remain current on industry trends and understand regulatory items as they occur, or as communicated by management. Understand the competition.
Ensure activities adhere to Division, client and alliance service standards.
Participate in departmental projects and corporate initiatives on a periodic basis.
Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

The Management Development Program is a non-rotational, one-year training program for recent college graduates where participants learn sales, accounting, project management and leadership skills depending upon their career track. Various methods of training include classroom study, divisional orientations, and teamwork on group projects. These fundamentals are coupled with on-the-job training to allow for immediate application in the area for which the participant has been hired.

Basic understanding of investments
Knowledge of the Retirement Plan market landscape, including optimizing 401(k) retirement plan design based on thorough analysis of business entities across a variety of industries
