This position is primarily on the day shift but will cover other shifts as needed.

Employee will fill the role of filling in for boiler operators for sick and vacation hours. When not covering i the boiler room will work within the engineering shop along with HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical trades as needed. On call is a requirement for this position approximately once every seven weeks.

When covering shifts in the boiler room, operates and maintains steam boilers, auxiliaries, and chiller plant equipment. Represents the Facilities department on nights, weekends, and holidays as first contact regarding facilities.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• 2 plus years of experience in a high pressure boiler room preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds, climb a ladder

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Training/Experience:

• Massachusetts Second Class Fireman License or higher

• Massachusetts Second Class Fireman License is required
