Staff Software Engineer – Cloud Architecture & Healthcare Platforms (Pittsburgh, PA)

What will you be doing?

You’ll be at the forefront of designing and building cloud-first applications tailored for healthcare. This includes:

• Architecting and implementing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native applications using full-stack development principles
• Building multi-tenant, HIPAA-compliant systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP using containerization, orchestration, and microservices
• Ensuring high availability, performance, and observability across distributed systems
• Collaborating with product managers, clinical stakeholders, and DevOps engineers to define and execute technical strategies
• Leading Agile development practices, CI/CD initiatives, and architectural changes
• Mentoring engineers and driving process improvements focused on scalability, maintainability, and compliance

What will you need to be successful?

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in software architecture and development, especially in cloud-native healthcare applications
• Proficiency in C++ or Rust, with production experience in Python and JavaScript
• Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools like GitLab CI and Terraform
• Experience with React, Django, Spring, Airflow, and secure development practices
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills

Preferred:

• Familiarity with DICOM, FHIR, OpenCV, ITK
• Experience with cloud-based medical imaging and real-time visualization
• Knowledge of GPU acceleration, edge computing, and streaming architectures
• Understanding of ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 compliance frameworks
