About the role, We are seeking a Java Middleware Engineer with experience in transactional low-latency API development. You will work closely with development, architecture, and support teams to develop and support Java microservices in an AKS service mesh. These will augment and largely replace our legacy internal and external web services middleware platform. You will be part of a DevOps team that includes QA and SRE. This team delivers real-time, cross-industry insights into consumer identity and behavior through its proprietary line of products. The team collaborates with Information Security and Project Management, ensuring platform security, performance, and stability across LexisNexis applications.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining middleware services that connect internal and external applications (e.g., fraud detection, identity verification, credit scoring)
• Building APIs and integration layers to connect databases, services, and third-party systems
• Configuring, optimizing, and maintaining the middleware platform
• Implementing data encryption, authentication, and authorization protocols within middleware components
• Ensuring integrations comply with regulations such as FCRA, GLBA, GDPR, CCPA
• Supporting secure API development, management, and auditing

Requirements

• Current and extensive experience (5+ years) as a Java developer (experience with Spring framework a plus)
• Current experience with writing Web Services – Ideally using SOAP with XML or RESTful Web Services with JSON
• Experience with containerized applications and cloud software delivery
• Experience with RDBMS and Document/Object Store data persistence (MySQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB, etc.)
• Experience with Linux operating system
• Experience with message brokers and service mesh architecture
• Possess the ability to work in ambiguous situations; take a high-level assignment and work the detail to produce a successful solution
• Ability to effectively mentor and train less experienced personnel
• Ability to deliver quality software deliverables



U.S. National Base Pay Range: $84,900 - $141,600. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.

 


 



This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
