Responsibilities
- Use hand and power tools to repair or replace faulty equipment parts and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently.
- Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
- Use tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools.
- Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to perform repairs and fabrication.
- Thoroughly understands all facets of Viserion’s safety programs and culture, with strong working knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Consistently demonstrates safe working practices and promptly communicates safety alarms to operations.
- Responsible for properly and accurately recording all applicable documentation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Associates, Technical or Mechanical Degree desired, but not required.
- Two to four (2-4) years of experience.
Skills
- Basic written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious
- Ability to work in a quality-controlled environment.
- Welding and light fabrication preferred.
- Agriculture and/or grain elevator experience preferred.
Physical Requirments
- Regularly walk, bend and stoop.
- Regularly required to walk on catwalks at a variety of heights; up to 200 feet with appropriate safety equipment.
- Regularly climbs stairs and ladders.
- Regularly lifts up to 75 pounds.
- Regularly enters and works in confined spaces.
