JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Altoona Athletics is hiring for the openings of Intercollegiate Athletic Scoreboard and Clock Operators. The opening assists with a variety of varsity athletic competitions and occasional special events.

Essential Functions:

• Perform scoreboard and clock operating duties including shot clock at Penn State Altoona varsity athletic games and special sport-related events including: basketball, volleyball, soccer, wrestling, and swim meets.

• Responsible for updating the scoreboard throughout the game with time, scores, fouls, and other needed information.

• Responsible for starting, stopping, and/or resetting the shot clock.

• Report any incidents at home events to Athletic Director.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions; subject to extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to stand for extended periods in variable weather conditions.
• General knowledge of and compliance with all NCAA competition guidelines.
• Understanding of NCAA game day rules and regulations of various sports primarily women’s and men’s basketball.
• Ability to communicate with various constituents, the public, students, coaches, administrators, and officials.
• Strong work ethic, customer service skills, verbal/written communication.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
