JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Materials Research Institute, PSU University Park Campus is seeking a Part Time Nanofabrication Laboratory Assistant.
Job Summary-
Support advanced research activities in the Nanofabrication Laboratory
Work up to 25 hours per week on a defined schedule.
Gain valuable experience and skills in nanofabrication, micromachining, and materials research.
Job Duties-
Fabrication and characterization of micromachined flexoelectric devices.
Training of new post-doctoral scholars on laboratory equipment and procedures.
Perform Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) on various substrates using the ALD tools.
Provide training of new users on ALD tools.
Create recipes for processes on the ALD tools.
Assist with ALD related maintenance tasks such as pump changes and material changes.
Manage ALD related precursors and monitor gas levels and pressures.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the laboratory staff.
Job Requirements-
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of nanofabrication and materials science.
Ability to follow instructions and protocols.
Must be able to work in a cleanroom environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with MEMS fabrication preferred.
Demonstrated ability to train others on technical equipment.
Compensation-
The starting rate for this job is $36.50
