PRIMARY FUNCTION:

To develop and/or teach designated course(s) within the guidelines and policies of the University and College. Specific course(s) and responsibilities are outlined in the Letter of Agreement between the instructor and the College.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Teach designated course(s) during indicated semester(s).
• Work in collaboration with College staff and faculty to develop and/or review course and assessment materials.
• Produce a course syllabus which should include the course objectives, outline
of course content, testing dates, course requirements for final grade
determination, required or recommended resource texts, etc.
• Provide the College with information needed to order the course textbook(s).
• Provide the College with materials for copying or printing at least one week
prior to the course or class start date.
• Provide a final course grade for each student by the specified date according
to the College’s grade scale.
• Participate in the course evaluation process.
• Provide guidance and supervision for teaching assistants if applicable.
• Maintain office hours for academic support.
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core
values of the University.

Qualifications:
 

Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred in related field from an accredited college or university

Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Candidates must be qualified to teach in the humanities and scinces. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and experienced teacher who applies active student-learning methods in the classroom.
