The Jefferson Weinberg ALS Center at the Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience, Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health, seeks an experienced Clinical Research Coordinator.

Job Description

  • Responsibilities for Clinical Research Coordinator

  • Manages a recently initiated multi-arm trial for ALS patients
  • Responsible for ensuring study is in compliance with local and federal laws and regulations 
  • Recruits and screens potential study participants and performs intake assessments 
  • Creates and/or maintains all documents and records related to the study
  • Acts as a point of reference for study participants by answering questions and keeping them informed on the study progress
  • Manages the inventory of equipment and supplies related to the study and orders more as needed
  • Attends our weekly multi-disciplinary clinics as well as meetings, events and seminars in order to educate patients on current ALS research and research studies. 
  • Provides emphatic emotional support when needed
  • Helps with collection and processing of specimens for our bio-fluid and tissue bank programs and inputs data and patient information into electronic systems
  • Creates reports on studies, including notes on protocols, workload, data collection, and more
  • Qualifications for Clinical Research Coordinator

  • 1+ years previous experience working in a clinical research setting is preferred.  Education in health care is considered if the right candidate presents.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Organizational and time management skills with strong attention to details
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and also as part of a team
  • Skilled with standard computer programs including the MS Office and RedCap
  • Understanding of medical terminology as well as standard clinical procedures and protocols
  • Prior experience training and mentoring staff members is preferred

High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree and previous experience preferred.
