The Job/What You'll Do:

The People Business Partner Support Specialist plays a key role in enabling AssetMark’s People Business Partner (PBP) Manager to deliver exceptional support to employees and leaders. This role focuses on coordination, data integrity, and process execution rather than strategic advising. The Support Specialist ensures that HR programs run smoothly, documentation is accurate, and managers receive timely, reliable assistance with foundational HR matters.

This position is ideal for an HR professional who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow into a future People Business Partner role.

We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our Phoenix, AZ office.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics and drive accountability for performance management, goal planning, talent review, and promotion cycles.
  • Manage employee files and documentation in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for routine HR questions from employees and managers.
  • Partner with People Business Partner Manager to support employee relations cases, escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Assist in the coordination of separations, leaves of absence, and return-to-work processes.
  • Generate and validate reports on headcount, turnover, and engagement metrics for PBP Manager.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline administrative tasks and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain documentation for standard operating procedures across HR processes.
  • Build foundational partnerships with managers
  • Coach middle line managers for direct conversations with team
  • Help manage job expectations (including time and attendance) for employees

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of HR processes, employment laws, and compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems (Workday a plus).
  • Curiosity, willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; coursework in HR or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in Human Resources or a related role (internships included).

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $65,000-$80,000.

  

This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
