RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Participates in establishing goals and standards of performance for the department. Plans, schedules and assigns the work of the department, and maintains work efficiency at the highest possible level at the lowest possible cost. Continuously monitors quality of work and efficiency in the department and takes necessary corrective action to remedy deficiencies. Motivates department leaders and teammates to achieve continuously increasing productivity. Evaluates performance of all department personnel on the prescribed time schedule and recommends, initiates, and delivers appropriate personnel action after consultation with the Maintenance and Human Resources Managers. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager in the development of teammates. Investigates and identifies root causes and leading indicators of production downtime, determines and remedies causes of failure to meet quality standards, advises and assists the appropriate manufacturing and support departments with the implementation of corrective action. Enter equipment and PM’s for all new equipment. Will generate charts, graphs, and reports to determine maintenance reliability. Will meet with vendors and suppliers as needed. Assist and track projects determined by Maintenance Manager and Plant Staff and record and analyze data. Update department metrics and generate reports. Responsible for ensuring department leadership maintains 5S standards. Work with maintenance stockroom personnel to ensure all required parts are maintained per manufacturer’s recommendations. Schedule, Print, and distribute all PMs and work orders and follow up on work order backlog using Megamation. Run selected reports in CMMS to ensure work orders and PM’s contain all relevant information for the completed job (hours, description of work performed, parts used, etc). Conduct PM audits monthly to ensure integrity of completed PM’s Manage projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Responsible for all departmental training as needed. Maintain and update all PM’s regularly and as needed. Will serve as a standing member of the Plant Safety Team. Meet weekly with department Leaders to ensure compliance with assignments, goals, policies, procedures and quality standards. Maintain timekeeping records for department. Explains and enforces Company policies and rules; maintains discipline, morale and harmonious employee relations. Continually improves areas of responsibility through planned maintenance and equipment improvements. Review daily work order backlog; prioritize work based on equipment availability and criticality of work Attend daily production meeting and other meetings as assigned in the maintenance manager’s absence or as needed and update plant management on maintenance activities and upcoming work. Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred with 5 years maintenance supervisory experience in preventative and predictive maintenance systems or Associates degree in any technical discipline preferably maintenance or engineering technology and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a maintenance / planning role.
