Job Profile Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations and leading the monthly close process in a fast-paced logistics environment. This role is hands-on, combining technical accounting execution with team leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Lead the monthly and annual close process, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP,  and company policies.
  • Oversee revenue recognition, accruals, and expense allocations, with an understanding of logistics and transportation operations.
  • Lead, train, and mentor accounting staff while remaining directly involved in day-to-day accounting tasks (player–coach model).
  • Partner closely with Operations and Finance to resolve accounting issues and improve data quality and reporting.
  • Serve as key contact for external audit preparation and timely resolution of audit requests.
  • Support ERP system maintenance, reporting, and enhancements; assist with system implementations or upgrades.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management System and internal requirements.
  • Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Management System.

  • Proficiency in English, including the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English, is required for this position.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

  • CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
  • Prior experience in logistics, transportation, distribution, or a high-volume transactional environment.
  • Experience with Workday or similar ERP platforms.

Physical Requirements:

  • Remain in a stationary/seated position for an extended period.
  • Regularly required to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and other office machinery.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
