The Account Manager oversees policyholders' renewals and inquiries, ensuring premium targets are met and identifying cross-selling opportunities. This position conducts coverage assessments, nurtures client relationships, and ensures adherence to company protocols. Managing a portfolio & premium trends, and administers invoicing and endorsement tracking. Moreover, this position assists in managerial duties and contributes to new hire training initiatives.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Direct
- Meet and/or exceed company and departmental premium persistency and direct written premium goals by facilitating the renewal process for assigned MAGMUTUAL® policyholders across all lines of business.
- Serve as point of contact for policyowners throughout the year to assist with any and all coverage changes or coverage inquiries for all lines of business.
- Conduct annual coverage reviews to ensure all coverage needs within the practice, business and regulation of medicine are satisfied.
- Capitalize on all cross-sell premium opportunities to ensure goals are met individually and departmentally.
- Develop and maintain valuable relationships with key decision makers to reinforce overall retention goals.
- Assist management, as needed, with report preparation and periodic review of retention and revenue goals/strategies.
- Document, organize and maintain all account records in EPIC, SalesForce and ImageRight systems.
- Comply with all Company procedures, guidelines and levels of authority.
Commercial Lines
- Manage new and renewal MMIA commercial lines book of business with outside carriers
- Assist SBU Managers with monitoring and collection of MMIA receivables
- Forecast monthly premium for MMIA commercial accounts and provide explanation of variances
- Ensure external company compliance for all agency/agent licensing and contractual obligations
- Responsible for proper use of Salesforce for all MMIA commercial business including pipeline, accounts and policies.
- Perform risk analysis, propose coverage solutions, and prepare quotes for commercial business with outside companies.
- Meet with existing clients or direct sales team to discuss service/claims issues, new risk exposures, and recommend appropriate upgrades as needed.
- Assist management with developing annual sales and retention goals as well as strategies and action plans to accomplish goals.
- Apply expert knowledge of products and services to assist with new hire training.
- Follow up with clients on all required MMIA renewal applications.
- Track and follow up on endorsement requests with companies.
- Generate loss run reports.
- Answer client calls as needed and direct requests or questions to Commercial Lines
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- College degree and/or professional designation required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years personal lines (P&C) insurance experience with emphasis on professional liability and/or commercial lines in agency /brokerage environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Resident and/or non-resident Property and Casualty agent licenses required.
- Must possess organizational and time management skills, a desire to work in a fast paced team environment and the initiative to consistently exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present professional image.
- Must possess desire to work in a results oriented team environment.
- Experience with Applied Epic and a paperless environment preferred.
- Some travel may be required.
