Summary of Duties

As a Family Time Coordinator, you will:

  • Make sure kids are safe during family visits and follow the caseworker's instructions.

  • Support management of visit agreements by working with caseworkers, clients, and caregivers.

  • Explain visit agreements and rules to clients, families, and caregivers, answer questions after visits, and participate in case related meetings.

  • Keep detailed records, update reports, and tell caseworkers about important changes.

  • Collect and organize family information, work with caseworkers to link families to helpful community resources and keep records current.

  • Drive children and families safely to their destinations, making sure to be dependable and considerate, even in dangerous weather.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs, or occupational skills programs. Or

  • Possession of a current certification in child development, early childhood education, addiction counseling preparation or juvenile corrections. Or

  • 45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training. Or

  • An associate degree in a field not closely related to social work/human services; and six months of human services-related experience (e.g., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing).

  • Experience communicating clearly and respectfully in-person, by phone, and in writing, while valuing and respecting cultural diversity.

  • Experience handling case information, compiling reports, and maintaining accurate records using digital tools.

  • Experience using time management, organization, and prioritization to meet deadlines.

  • Experience supporting youth and diverse groups in different settings.

  • Experience guiding individuals through conflicts and behavioral challenges using positive de-escalation and a trauma-informed approach.

Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in English & Spanish.

Working Conditions

  • Employee’s work schedule will be Monday - Friday from 8 am - 5 pm PT; hours may fluctuate based on service needs.

  • Occasional, compensated overtime may be required, including evening and weekend work.

  • Rare after-hours work may be required for assistance with temporary lodging.

  • Work will be conducted in offices, participant's homes, and other community sites.

  • Frequent travel is required for transporting children and families, attending trainings and meetings, and for other case related activities. Travel may be in hazardous weather conditions.

  • Rare overnight travel may be required.
