Job Description:

The Translator is responsible for providing interpretation and translation services to customers in the clinic area.  This position will respond to the needs of the non-English speaking customers/patients. The language line may be utilized to ensure appropriate interpretation of medical terminology. The translator will be familiar with hospital/clinic policy and procedures including the registration process, HIPPA, and other essential information that may need to be interpreted/translated. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education-GED or High School Diploma required. Associate Degree in the medical field preferred.

Experience-minimum 1 year medical interpretation preferred.

Certifications-Certified Medical Interpreter at the time of hire or successful completion of the Language Line Skills Assessment test within first week of employment plus completion of a 40-hour Certified Medical Interpreter course within the first 90 days of employment.
