JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
The Project Manager, under the general direction of the Global IT Projects Manager, is responsible for managing the successful delivery and implementation of global projects to all JAS Subsidiaries.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field. Master Degree preferred. Five (5) plus years experience in Project and/or Program Management. Experience in International Transportation is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to speak more than one language is not required but is considered a plus. The candidate will be encouraged to learn as part of their responsibilities additional languages.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
OTHER SKILLS:
Must have through understanding of Global Application Project Management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with all levels of an organization. Excellent team participation skills. Excellent technology skills, including the use of project management, database management, presentation and word processing software. General understanding of Freight Forwarding and Logistics Industry is a plus, and the role of technology in supporting organization effectiveness.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities; sound judgment and the ability to work under time pressures. Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for more than four hours a day and other physical requirements required to perform the essential functions of this position. ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Percentage of travel to overall time will depend on project requirements. Candidate will be required to have a valid passport and the ability to travel freely throughout the globe.
