Schedule: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Weekend: On call every other weekend

SUMMARY

Environmental Service is the main defense against serious infections that may linger on surfaces throughout a medical facility. Collaboration between infection prevention and environmental services (EVS) staff limits the prospect of disease transmission within the healthcare environment.

Leads a team of employees providing a variety of cleaning tasks. Daily responsibilities include rounding with customers, holding daily meetings, and ensuring staff have necessary resources to complete assignments. Will cover for manager in their absence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leadership. Responsible for human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, resolution of employee concerns, disciplinary counseling, terminations and employee morale
• Cleaning & Maintenance. Follow a written schedule to complete the approved cleaning process task sheet; dispose of regulated medical waste/trash; set up and/or clean conference rooms and common areas; operate mechanical floor cleaners (as assigned)
• Policy & Procedure. Introduces new programs, supplies, equipment and chemicals to staff at monthly meeting. Maintains a workplace that supports the goals and objectives of the organizations image initiatives. This includes the appearance of all staff.  Works closely with the trainer to ensure we’re compliant all mandatories surrounding safety and education
• Prioritization. Establishes a schedule for project completion, and performs/assists or supervises projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Three (3) years of experience in a lead position or equivalent
• Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft office software
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$19.75 - $23.00Newark14513

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
