The 4400 Unit at Unity Hospital is an 18-bed, moderately-acute telemetry unit that specializes in the complex care of patients with a variety of medical conditions, including those requiring oncology treatments, hematology care, palliative care, and inpatient hospice services. • Diverse and High-Acuity Patient Population:
  • Telemetry & Acute Medical Conditions: Nurses manage patients requiring continuous monitoring and intervention for a variety of acute medical conditions.
  • Cancer Treatment: Care for patients receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapy, including the administration of chemotherapy at the bedside through our accredited Oncology Unit. Nurses are trained to provide both acute initiation and ongoing maintenance chemotherapy.
  • Palliative & End-of-Life Care: Specialized care for patients in hospice or requiring end-of-life care, including symptom management, patient/family education, and compassionate support.
  • Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal: Care for patients undergoing withdrawal, assessed using the CIWA protocol, stabilized, and transitioned to appropriate rehabilitation care.
  • Complex Wound Care: Advanced management of patients with wound vacs, pressure ulcers, and other complex wound care needs.
  • Critical Infusions & Pain Management: Management of patients requiring Insulin drips, Cardizem drips, Heparin drips, and CADD (Continuous Ambulatory Delivery Device) pumps for pain management.

This role is part of the Registered Nurse Level IV / Clinical Nurse IV must complete the following:

SCHEDULE: Day/Evening/Night - Every other weekend / holiday

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.

• Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family
• Planning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family
• Evaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities 
• Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters

BS: Nursing (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:

$37.18 - $49.92Rochester14626

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
