Are you a hungry-to-learn college student looking for that perfect summer internship to add to your resume? The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) is seeking driven, talented undergraduate juniors and seniors, as well as graduate students, to participate in a two-month paid summer internship working within one of several of our departments, including Accounting, Corporate Communications, Financial Operations, Internal Audit, Member Services and Digital Transformation (Business Intelligence). Interns at FHLB Dallas help the company solve real-world problems while gaining valuable marketable skills that will set you apart from the crowd when it comes time to joining the workforce after graduation. 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop understanding of FHLB Dallas’ complex business model, methodology and tools
  • Provide entry- to intermediate-level support, under the supervision of manager, as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the department
  • Develop professional skills and expertise by working on real projects that impact FHLB Dallas and its key stakeholders
  • Interact with colleagues and internal or external stakeholders to carry out assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems
  • Receive guidance, training and mentoring from manager, and at times, other business units, in planning and carrying out projects, activities and assignments
  • Attend weekly training sessions on professional development, personality development, emotional intelligence, workforce transitioning and more
  • Learn more about the Federal Home Loan Bank System, banking industry and financial services
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who We Are Looking For

  • Candidates for our internship positions will possess the following abilities:
  • Project planning and time management skills
  • Basic knowledge and skill at bachelors or masters level within specified area of professional specialty
  • Completed a few courses in related study area
  • Effective oral and writing communication skills
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions
  • Strong willingness to learn and not afraid to ask questions
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Demonstrates high degree of integrity and possesses the ability to complete challenging assignments with a high level of confidentiality

The summer internship program is a full-time experience, where students work 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible depending on student’s schedule. Students pursuing degrees in business, finance, accounting, information systems, economics, marketing, communications, journalism, computer science, business information systems, public policy and urban planning, graphic design and digital arts, data analytics, banking or related fields are encouraged to apply.
