GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Director of Student Engagement works directly with the Associate Dean and Director of Campus Life to facilitate the operations of student programming, provide support to Student Senate and various student clubs and organizations, and assist with other Campus Life programs and services as needed. This position provides direction and support for several Campus Life programs which facilitate student engagement, campus involvement, and student leadership. This is a live-on position, will participate in the on-call duty schedule on a rotating basis, and respond to crises when appropriate.
The Assistant Director is expected to take an active role in the continued development of the Campus Life department. They should be a visible and approachable campus presence, committed to working with students on creating a vibrant co-curricular experience, and supportive of the varying needs of the Pitzer community. The person in this role must be a student advocate, self-starter, open-minded, innovative, and conscious of Pitzer’s core values. They should be interested in working on a student-driven campus that has a strong student voice in all levels of the college governance and campus-life.

Basic Qualification: Must have a master’s degree in student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or equivalent. Must have three to four years of professional experience in campus programming, residence life, or a related area of Student Affairs. Two years of part-time experience while enrolled in a graduate program may count towards up to two years of professional experience. Must have demonstrated experience with event planning.

Licenses/Certifications: Must have a valid California’s driver’s license, transportation, and a driving record acceptable to the college’s automobile insurer.
Supervisory Responsibility: Supervise approximately 10 Campus Life Student Engagement Assistants; including selecting, training, and supervising student staff; budget management; and event implementation.

Full-time 40 hours per week
Annual Pay Schedule: 12
Work Schedule: This is a full-time position requiring regular weeknight meetings with students and additional night and weekend work. The regular hours for this position are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, but these will vary based on the needs of the department. Will participate in the on-call rotation.
Work Model: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)
Compensation: Budgeted pay range: $68,000-$70,304 per year.
The salary for the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
